Kelly Hine

Kelly Hine is an award winning contemporary pastel artist who is a Santa Barbara native living in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. She is a Signature Member of the prestigious Pastel Society of America, Signature member of the West Coast Pastel Society, Associate Member of the American Impressionist Society, Associate Member of Woman Artists of the West and an Associate Artist of the historical California Art Club.

She has private collectors in Santa Barbara County and throughout the Country and her work has been exhibited in juried National and International exhibitions where they continue to gain recognition for their atmospheric sensitivity. She was awarded “Ones to Watch” in the Landscape category of the 25th Annual Pastel 100 by Desmond O’Hagen and was also featured in the spring edition of the Pastel Journal.

Working with soft pastel her work reflects quiet atmospheric landscapes with mood, memory and emotional resonance within the natural world. She is inspired by fleeting transitions of light and the contemplative beauty of open spaces. A great source of her creative energy comes from the diverse geographical region in which she lives and works. From the great Pacific Ocean to the beautiful Santa Ynez Mountains there is never a shortage of natural beauty for her creative inspiration.
